Morgan Wolin, PsyD

 

Dr. Morgan Wolin has her Masters and Doctorate in clinical Psychology from the Adler School o f Psychology.  Her training included internships in trauma and sports psychology.  She is a Diplomat in Sports Psychology.

 

Dr. Morgan Wolin works with athletes from the amateur to the elite level.  Her work with the DePaul Athletic Department as well as professional athletes, has given her a wide range of exposure to most competitive sports.   As a therapist she evaluates the athlete’s current mental skills, and develops and implements an individual program aimed at improving specific mental skills.   Collaboration of coaches, family, as well as complete teams can be utilized when appropriate.

 

A Cognitive Behavioral approach is used to help the athlete deal with ranging issues including experiencing emotional, behavioral, or relationship difficulties, coping with life stresses, time management, dealing with injury, career transitions, eating and substance abuse disorders.

 

Group educational programs for athletes, teams, families, and coaches are also utilized to facilitate morale, communications, goal setting, and team building.

 

Sports Psychology uses techniques including relaxation training, motivation, imagery, self-talk, neurofeedback, concentration training, and goal setting.

 

Dr. Morgan Wolin speaks to camps; youth sport organizations, teams coaching staffs and schools.

 

As the captain of the 1999 United States World Cup Equestrian Team, and seven time World Champion, she understands the demands and stresses our athletes face both off the paying field as well as I life.
